Our 2019 Winter Skills Campout took place January 4-6, 2019 at the Mule Pen at the Trexler Scout Reservation near Jonas Pa.
We stayed in the cabin at the Mule Pen and focused on cooking, first aid, knots, lashings, and fire building (as well as the obligatory game of Uno). It rained heavily late Friday into Saturday afternoon, which created a lot of mud.
On this campout, we also found the “Pot of Doom”, a cast iron dutch oven that had been stowed on the Scout trailer without being cleaned out months earlier. The resulting smell instantly created a new Troop 3 legend.
