On Sunday, 10/1/2023, a number of the troop’s scouts got together to work on Lucas’s Eagle Scout project: agility ladders for Seeing Eye puppies.
Earlier this year, Lucas raised $1,600 through fundraisers to fund the project including a car wash and “bowling for puppies”. At the latter event, scouts and families got to bowl while hanging out with Seeing Eye puppies from the Northampton County Seeing Eye Puppy Raisers Club).
Lucas used the funds to purchase 800 feet of 1″ diameter PVC. At Sunday’s work session, leaders and adult volunteers cut the PVC into lengths based on Lucas’ specifications, while the scouts loaded the finished PVC lengths into milk crates for storage.
A second build day, where the ladders are assembled, will happen later this fall.
